How to Clean Every Type of Blind

Fabric, wooden, aluminium and shutters each need a slightly different approach. Here is a quick cleaning guide.

Fabric roller, zebra & Roman blinds

Vacuum weekly with a brush attachment. Spot-clean marks with mild soap and a barely damp cloth, dabbing rather than rubbing.

Dust with a microfibre cloth or duster. Avoid water and household sprays, which can damage the finish.

These can be wiped with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry each slat afterwards to prevent water marks.

Clean the fabric as above and keep the motor head dry. Recharge battery motors when the remote indicates low battery.
